Give the transfer equipment its own project scope
A generator project includes more than the engine and alternator. The transfer equipment and its interfaces must be addressed in the electrical scope. Genesis Prime Group offers automatic transfer switch installation, replacement, testing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, upgrades and modifications.
We serve properties in Miami-Dade, Broward and Monroe Counties. Whether the ATS work is part of a new generator installation or a standalone project, start with the switch information and the building's operating requirements.

New ATS installation and replacement
Provide the available one-line diagram, generator information and safely accessible ATS nameplate details. Identify whether the objective is a new installation, replacement of failed equipment or a change to the existing electrical arrangement.
The project review needs to establish the equipment specification, connections, controls, installation access and any required design or approvals. A switch's ampere rating is useful information, but it does not establish the generator size or settle the complete electrical design.
Electrical work and professional design responsibilities are assigned to the appropriately licensed parties. The written scope should identify the equipment to be supplied, work on adjacent distribution, shutdowns, startup and testing.
Plan the changeover before removing equipment
An ATS replacement can affect the way the building receives power during the work. Discuss the acceptable shutdown window, temporary conditions, required notices and the people who must approve the operating sequence.
The estimate should distinguish equipment supply from installation labor, any distribution changes, controls work, temporary power, testing and restoration. Reuse of existing components should be a documented decision rather than an unstated assumption.

Testing and coordination with the elevator company
Our ATS services include testing and an annual load test with the elevator company. For a particular property, identify the exact test objective, attendance, equipment involved and report before scheduling.
An ATS test, a generator load-bank test and elevator-related testing are not interchangeable service descriptions. The agreement should identify which activities are included and which require another contractor's attendance or separate inspection arrangements. No generic service listing establishes a universal test frequency for every building.
Maintenance, diagnostics and corrective work
For an existing ATS, share the recent service history, reported symptoms and any current findings. Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and modifications should be scoped to the identified equipment and the issue under review.
If testing identifies a deficiency, the service record should state the finding and the proposed next action. A maintenance visit does not automatically authorize replacement, include every repair or guarantee future operation. Parts, specialist attendance and repeat testing should be handled under the agreed authorization process.
Information for an ATS inquiry
Send the address, property use, manufacturer and model when known, available electrical drawings and the requested work. State whether the building can authorize a shutdown and whether an elevator company or other service provider needs to participate.
Do not open energized equipment to gather information. Use existing records and safely accessible labels, and leave internal inspection to qualified personnel.
Is ATS replacement always required with a new generator?
Not automatically. The proposed system and equipment condition need review. The installation quote should state whether the ATS is new, replaced, modified or evaluated for reuse.
Does an ATS maintenance agreement include elevator testing?
Only when the agreement defines that coordination and the test. Confirm the responsibilities of each participating party.
Can the ATS be evaluated before choosing a new generator?
Yes. An existing-system review can identify the information needed for the next design or construction decision.
